  • Mechanical  Designer

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    CNG Engineering has an immediate opening for an experienced mechanical engineer / designer. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative team player and a self-starter who takes ownership of the projects to which they are assigned. Under the guidance of the project engineer, the qualified candidate will be responsible for initiating and developing mechanical drawings and specifications from inception through completion for assigned projects in compliance with applicable codes and design program criteria established by our clients and by in-house design standards.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Design HVAC and plumbing project systems, under the direction and guidance of a licensed mechanical engineer.
    • Layout floor plans, select equipment, create details, riser diagrams, schematics, edit specifications, and formulate any supporting documentation required for completing mechanical project designs.
    • Perform all necessary calculations to support system designs such as heating/cooling loads and hydraulic, pressure loss and pump head calculations.
    • Collaborate with project managers in a multi-disciplinary MEP design environment.
    • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit and Trane Trace applications to complete setup, design and calculations.
    • Perform Construction Administration  tasks, review submittal/shop drawings, respond to RFIs and attend Construction Administration meetings.
    • Conduct site visits to evaluate field installations and conduct field observations.

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or commensurate training and experience.
    • 5-10 years experience designing Mechanical (HVAC) projects.
    • Working knowledge of MEP building code compliance / requirements.
    • Proficiency in Revit MEP required.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Trane Trace preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with peers, clients and vendors.
    • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to accurate multi-task project deadlines.
    • Current valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record.

     

  • Electrical Designer

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    CNG Engineering has an immediate opening for an experienced electrical designer. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative team player and self-starter who takes ownership of the projects to which they are assigned. Under the guidance of the project engineer, the qualified candidate will be responsible for initiating and developing electrical drawings and specifications from inception through completion for assigned projects in compliance with applicable codes and design program criteria established by our clients and by in-house CNG Engineering design standards.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Electrical Designer will work under the supervision of a licensed professional electrical engineer
    • Design of branch circuit distribution systems for power and lighting in commercial facilities
    • Design of overall power distribution systems and fire alarm systems
    • Perform accurate calculations to support system designs
    • Attend design and/or construction meetings as required
    • Perform construction site visits as required
    • Develop meeting minutes and/or site observation reports
    • Interact with the design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis

     

    Requirements

    • 4-8 years recent experience in Electrical Engineering design for commercial building construction projects (experience can substitute for education)
    • Electrical systems installation experience is preferred but not required
    • Engineer In Training (EIT) preferred but not required
    • Proficiency in MS Office software
    • Must have the ability to interact and perform as part of a team
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills are required
    • Current valid Driver License and insurable driving record
    • Working knowledge of Revit MEP required

     

    Physical

    • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching forward and reaching overhead.
    • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds; Infrequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
    • Frequent need to traverse difficult terrain [approximately 25% of job] with no assistance
