  • Electrical Engineer (Licensed)

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    CNG ENGINEERING has an immediate opening for an experienced ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. The candidate should display strong technical design capabilities, leadership experience and clear communications skills to lead MEP projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design of electrical systems for a variety of public sector building types and guiding technical staff through project completion. This position reports to the Company President.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Manage assigned projects including coordination with a multi-discipline design team and oversight of production assigned to junior staff
    • Design of branch circuit distribution systems for power and lighting in commercial facilities
    • Design of overall power distribution system
    • Design of fire alarm system
    • Perform calculations to support system designs
    • Attend design and/or construction meetings as required
    • Perform CA tasks, review submittals /shop drawings, respond to RFIs and attend CA meetings
    • Conduct site visits to evaluate field installations and conduct field observations
    • Provide overall direction for design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis
    • Assists in business development efforts in coordination with the company’s Business Development Director

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience in electrical system design for commercial structures and public facilities
    • Experienced at project management including managing work to produce projects on schedule and within budget
    • Knowledge of Auto CAD and Revit; proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
    • Must have the ability to interact and perform as part of a team
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills are required

     

    Physical

    • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching forward and reaching overhead
    • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds; Infrequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
    • Frequent need to traverse difficult terrain [approximately 25% of job] with no assistance

     

  • Electrical Designer (Engineer in Training)

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    CNG ENGINEERING has an immediate opening for an experienced ELECTRICAL ENGINEER IN TRAINING. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative team player and self-starter who takes ownership of the projects to which they are assigned. Under the guidance of the project engineer, the qualified candidate will be responsible for initiating and developing electrical drawings and specifications from inception through completion for assigned projects in compliance with applicable codes and design program criteria established by our clients and by in-house CNG Engineering design standards.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Design of branch circuit distribution systems for power and lighting in commercial facilities
    • Design of overall power distribution systems and fire alarm systems
    • Perform accurate calculations to support system designs
    • Attend design and/or construction meetings as required
    • Perform construction site visits as required
    • Develop meeting minutes and/or site observation reports
    • Interact with the design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related
    • 2-4 years of current experience in Electrical Engineering design for commercial building construction projects
    • Proficiency in MS Office software
    • Must have the ability to interact and perform as part of a team
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills are required
    • Current valid Driver License and insurable driving record
    • Working knowledge of Revit MEP required

  • Mechanical Design Modeler - AutoDesk Revit MEP

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    CNG ENGINEERING has an immediate opening for an experienced MECHANICAL DESIGN MODELER. The candidate should display strong detailed, modelling capabilities. This position assist in the production of mechanical design drawings utilizing Revit MEP software.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Production of HVAC and plumbing design drawings utilizing Revit software, under the direction and guidance of a mechanical engineer or mechanical designer
    • Follow established BIM standards
    • Maintain drawing quality standards
    • Set up BIM models from architectural and/or structural Revit files and create MEP discipline work sets
    • Collaborate with project managers in a multi-disciplinary MEP design environment
    • Coordinates with architect’s BIM manager when required

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years experience modeling Mechanical, HVAC and Plumbing systems in Revit
    • Ability to resolve Revit graphic issues
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred
    • Experience in Autodesk Naviswork is a plus, but not required
    • Experience in HVAC design and mechanical systems is a plus, but not required
    • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with peers
    • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to accurate multi-task project deadlines
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows 7
    • Current valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
